85 years in the coach travel industry
Chalkwell has launched their new Holidays and DayBreaks brochure in readiness for their 85th anniversary next year.
In a foreword Chalkwell Commercial Director Roland Eglinton describes how his grandfather Harry Eglinton bought his first coach in 1931 when it would have been difficult to foresee what was to come.
“Today we have coaches with a whole multitude of features and stylings that weren’t even dreamt of in his day,” he writes.
“With a Chalkwell DayBreak or Holiday our customers are able to take in the UK and parts of Europe with ease and comfort, at the same time knowing that we work hard to give you the best experience.”
He says the programme for 2016 sees a ‘fantastic mix’ of old favourites and new destinations ready to be explored. Says Roland: “What better way to celebrate an 85th year than to go to the wonderful Isle of Man which is new for 2016.”
The brochure contains 13 holidays for all of 2016 which, in addition to the Isle of Man, includes ‘Blooming Holland,’ Isle of Wight, Blairgowrie, Birmingham Christmas Market and ‘The Great British Christmas’ at the Royal Bath Hotel.
There are more than 30 DayBreaks for the first part of the year with another brochure for the latter part of the year to follow.
The DayBreaks include ‘The Making of Harry Potter’ which is a visit to the studios and the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ live tour from the 02.
Roland adds: “Although Chalkwell is a family business we have a dedicated team of people who work hard to make our DayBreak and Holiday programme the best it can be.
This includes the reservations staff who do all of the planning, the engineers who make sure our coaches are maintained to a high standard and our drivers who are an important part of your day.”
