Blind Clubs Happy Experience

The chairperson of a club for the visually impaired has sent a message of thanks to a local coach operator for their annual day trip.

Wendy Montgomery, who chairs Sheppey Blind Club, wrote to Chalkwell of Sittingbourne for what she described as ‘a happy experience.’

Chalkwell took 16 of the party of 22 visually impaired on a coach which was driven by Glenn Robins, one of their traffic office supervisors.

Wendy wrote afterwards: “I should like to thank you for serving us so well on our outing to the UK Paper Club for a show and onto to Crispins for a fish supper afterwards.

Although I had to make a number of changes due to working with elderly members of the blind club, you took it all in your stride. Glenn the driver was excellent and he made it a happy experience for everyone who were well looked after throughout.

Thank you very much and we will use your services again.

Wendy added that the club had used other providers in the past but their drivers weren’t in empathy with the requirements of the visually impaired.

Nothing was too much trouble for the Chalkwell driver who picked up some of the people from their homes and was very reliable. They were very efficient and did what they said they would
