FIRST BUNGEE JUMP FOR BUSMEN
Two men more used to having their feet firmly on the ground in their jobs have experienced their first bungee jump.
The two Chalkwell bus and coach men, Andy Bates and Michael Yates, have so far raised about £425 for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance – Chalkwell’s charity of the year.
The duo jumped 160ft from the metal cage of a crane at the 02 Arena in Sunday’s fine but chilly weather.
Both said they were a little apprehensive as they stood with their feet over the edge waiting to jump. But once the descent began, they enjoyed the two to three minutes of freedom.
“We agreed afterwards we would like to do another charity bungee jump and next time from a height of 300ft,” said Michael who is Sittingbourne-based Chalkwell’s Coach Reservations Assistant.
Andy, on the left of the photo, who is the company’s Operations Manager, came up with the idea of the bungee jump to continue Chalkwell’s fundraising for Air Ambulance.
