COUNCIL PRAISE FOR ‘JOURNEY OF COMMEMORATION’

Officers of Swale Borough Council have been unstinting in their praise of a tour ‘Journey of Commemoration’ organized by Sittingbourne-based Chalkwell to their twin town Ypres.

“Everyone was grateful for the opportunity and generally enjoyed the day,” Martin Goodhew, Project Officer, Swale Borough Council, has said in an email.

The comments follow a tour organized by Chalkwell’s Annette Withrington (Coach Reservations Assistant) and Karen Lockyer (Coach Hire & Tour Sales Manager) for students and teachers.

Says Mr. Goodhew:  “Personally, I would really like to extend my thanks to Chalkwell Coaches and to Mike Scott (Tour Guide) for making my job a lot easier on the day and providing a good and professional service.”:

“The Council Leader joined the tour at Tyne Cot and was impressed with the  information about local soldiers and their real lives. Others also made positive comments about the Tour Guide and the accompanying tour guide booklet was excellent, really appreciated by all as an informative souvenir of the day.

“Should the same drivers (Geoff Masters and Rob Allen) be available for next year, their services be requested as they were friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they ran to time as per the conditions.”
