One of the younger employees at a Sittingbourne family owned business has passed her exams to qualify as a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT).

Emma Jacobs, 26, has achieved her qualification with Chalkwell whom she joined seven years ago in their accounts department.

She is now Chalkwell’s accounts technician responsible for the company’s accounts and payroll for its bus and coach operations as well as garage business at Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne.

It has taken her two years to achieve the three levels required to qualify as a Member of the AAT and she is pleased to have gained her certificate at First Intuition Maidstone, the accounting college where she has studied weekly.

“It means a lot because it has involved a considerable amount of study and hard work.  So it’s an achievement I am proud of,” said Emma.

Said Chalkwell’s Commercial Director Roland Eglinton:  “Emma is a very important member of the team here, and we are delighted with her most recent achievement.”

There’s an even bigger date looming for Emma - August 1st when she marries her fiancé Liam Maggs, a stonemason, in Upchurch.
